After School Matters provides Chicago public high school teens opportunities to explore and develop their talents, while gaining critical skills for work, college and beyond. Earners of the After School Matters Summer Achiever – Science badge have demonstrated commitment and achievement through their participation in a science apprenticeship focused on furthering their understanding of the natural world and relevant community and global issues. After School Matters Summer Achievers have an 80% or higher attendance rate in a rigorous program that meets on Mondays through Friday for 6-7 weeks at various dates and times to meet the 96 or 136 hour prerequisite. All After School Matters Summer Achievers participate in performances, activities, or creating products.
