After School Matters
The Summer Startup Intern will be trained by the SBDC staff on entrepreneurship resources and business advising techniques. Interns will work part time for the SBDC on SBDC selected client business projects in order to get exposure to what it is like to work within a startup company. Responsibilities: Assisting with researching and writing portions of business plans Administering electronic surveys Entering activity done on behalf of clients into our online tracking system Assisting with SBDC workshop set up Participating in organized startup events Participate in weekly training meetings Other duties as assigned Unless otherwise noted, all training will take at our office on 815 W Van Buren Street, Suite 400. Training will consist of lecture & discussion in-person, taught by SBDC staff members and online modules. Training will start with an orientation and continue throughout the course of the internship. Training topics will include, but are not limited to: business models, costs structures, capital planning, sales, marketing strategy, company culture, leadership, entrepreneurship profile, consulting skills, business writing, and business resources.
