Let’s Talk About Drill Rap

Mikva Challenge

Let’s Talk About Drill Rap focuses on a discussion and reflection on community violence. After watching a few segments from the documentary “The Field: Violence, Hip Hop & Hope in Chicago” young people will analyze the root causes of violence and brainstorm solutions to address the most pressing ones. Participants will then lobby for their solutions and think critically about the community decision-making process. The conversation will reflect on if communities most affected by gun violence have their voices heard, and how local-decision-making can be strengthened. This workshop will develop critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, the social-emotional domain of empathy, and encourages the practice of racially and culturally equitable decision-making. #RemakeDaysCHI
