Music For Self-Care: Share Your Favorite Song!
Chicago Public Library
A very popular program here at Rogers Park that is all about music appreciation combined with music therapy. As an alternative to a book club, this is a song club, where each patron chooses one song to share with others in a communal setting, then we each go around the room discussing our reactions, thoughts and overall feelings as we listened. Share a memory you associate specifically with the song, tell us why it has a special place in your life.
Bring one favorite track to play for others. We'll have access to YouTube so all you have to do is bring a title. We will take turns playing a piece of music to the group, then telling why it matters to us. This is a monthly event on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, so we encourage regular attendees to return with other songs!
