Summer Coding @ UChicago

Code Your Dreams

Hi students! Thank you for your interest in the SCU:BA program brought to you by Code Your Dreams, the University of Chicago Department of Computer Science, and the University of Chicago Hillel.

This 6-week summer program combines design thinking, analytical problem solving, and mentorship with Python programming for a well-rounded interdisciplinary experience.

Incoming students need not arrive with any of the above skills to apply or be considered for the program. We are looking for students with diverse lived experiences, backgrounds, and interests. We are looking for students who are excited to learn something new and use their creativity and innovative spirit to create something meaningful.

Students must commit to the program and attend all weekday meetings (a small number of excused absences are permitted). Upon successful completion of the summer program, each student will receive a laptop computer as well as a $500 stipend.

Students will need to sign and adhere to our Code of Conduct which includes no cellphone usage during the program.

More application details below:
- the program runs from June 24, 2024 - August 2, 2024 (no meeting on Thursday, July 4)
