Street Art Studio- Visual Art Applied to Public Art Projects

Yollocalli Arts Reach

Mario Mena | ‘Street Art Studio’ program participants explore a variety of street art styles, learning the historical context of diverse street art aesthetics through documentaries, photographs, field trips, and conversations with guest artists. Teens will continue to develop designs for a mural in the Brighton Park neighborhood, which would be completed throughout the session. This design will be based on the environment, community, and a continuing exploration of their identity as artists. Young people will develop their painting skills, and at the end of the session will be able to say they completed a mural!
