Digital Explorers - Middle Grades CS Opportunity Winter & Spring 2024
Discovery Partners Institute
Digital Explorers (DE) is a two-part mobile app development series for middle school students (6th thru 8th grades) with an interest in tech, but limited experience, access, or awareness. DE will utilize Swift Playgrounds (iPads), Everyone Can Create curriculum, team-building activities, and human-centered design thinking challenges. Swift is a powerful programming language created by Apple and used by the pros to build today’s most popular apps.
Students will work with DPI staff & an iOS Instructor, high school near peer mentors, and College mentors; and develop problem-solving and team-building skills through engaging, hands-on activities.
