The Knowledge-Problem Solver Badge recognizes IIT Boeing Scholars who demonstrate exemplary and engaged participation in our four-week summer session (part of our two-year, integrated STEM enrichment program), which inspires Chicago-area high school students to lead and serve through STEM. Students work in groups to participate in 4-6 "Project Challenges" (3-4 hour, hands-on, classroom-based STEM projects modeled on real-world problems) and one Serving through STEM Project" (a 24-hour project [over seven days] that requires students to develop assigned deliverable(s) for the Project Partner); students also attend various lectures, workshops, and field trips related to exploring STEM majors, careers, and contemporary issues. Students develop abilities in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and related skills and approaches for complex, real-world problem-solving
