T.R.E.A.D., Ark Of Peace Community Garden Growing Leaders Youth Program

This program started in the summer of 2020, just a few months after the COVID-19 virus broke out. We needed a way to operate our annual youth program and be socially distant. So we decided to build a garden using raised beds which were made from donated wood. The space we use for the garden was donated to us by Sheldon Heights Church Of Christ. The growing leaders Program isn't just about Gardening though, we have a mentoring curriculum entitled C.H.A.N.G.E. (Creating Healthy Alternatives through Non-Violent Guidance and Education), Youth Expungement, other developmental workshops, and Workforce development. The Garden is also a safe space for the youth to come and work without the fear of people judging or harming them.
