Jazz Big Band (Downtown Program)

The Jazz Big Band rehearses daily in Millennium Park. The pieces we work on encompass the entire range of jazz styles from swing to contemporary and everything in between. We have performances in various venues throughout the city including Fitzgerald's, the Pritzger Pavillion, and Daley Plaza to name a few. In addition to the instructors, there will be clinics by guest artists. We typically work on about 25 to 30 pieces each summer so some previous experience on your instrument is necessary. It's a great opportunity to work on sight reading, jazz improvisation, and improving your general playing ability.
