Chicago Knights Robotics Team
Agape Werks, Inc | LevelUP Makerspace
Teens work together to design, build, program, and market a custom built robot in response to a global challenge issued by the FIRST organization. They then 'train' their robot to complete selected tasks and compete with other teams in sports-like regional and global competitions. During this time, teens can choose to learn or enhance their ability to:
- Use Design Thinking, Computational, Thinking, and the Engineering Design Process in a team setting
- Create items using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
- Control items remotely and autonomously via phone apps or modern industrial programs
- Fabricate parts using traditional hand and machine tools (eg wrenches, saws, drill press)
- Use modern intelligent machine processes (eg, CNC milling, 3D Printing, Laser Cutting)
- Develop / enhance team's brand
- Strategically market yourself, your team, and your robot to others
