After School Matters
Culinary Arts is a student-driven cooking apprenticeship provided to expose teens to a commercial kitchen environment and the art of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation. Teens learn more about the leadership roles of kitchen managers, chef managers, and sanitation supervisors and have the opportunity to take on these roles throughout the program. Through instruction and practice, teens obtain the necessary skills to plan, prepare, cook, and present a full course luncheon or dinner.
