CAF Minecraft Design Jam

Chicago Architecture Foundation

The CAF Minecraft Design Jam is week-long workshops. Fifteen middle school students use design thinking to solve a real-world problem in a virtual environment. Students will work with Minecraft experts, architects and professional game developers to solve challenges, produce artifacts and earn badges. In the summer of 2015 CAF will work with an external art organization – Civic Artworks – to shape a design challenge for students focused on neighborhood sustainability. Use Minecraft to explore why design matters. You’ll need to work with a team to solve a unique design problem. Players will move between the physical and digital worlds build with Minecraft and LEGO®. ®. CAF will provide MinecraftEdu server and laptops. No experience needed! Recommended for grades 5th thru 8th, ages 10—14.
