Yollocalli Arts Reach - S14 Mapping and Drawing Experiments
National Museum of Mexican Art
Mapping Experiments provides students with an opportunity to explore maps and learn about map-making in order to create their own maps by using advanced drawing techniques. Participants create traditional and non-traditional maps about their communities and even imaginary worlds. Large scale drawings, zines, and public art are examples of projects to be produced. This program also provides teens with the history and contemporary practices of maps through museum visits and media research.
The program is provided by After School Matters and youth will receive a stipend at the end of the summer.
