Zoo Teens: Bat to School

Did you know that Chicago is home to eight different species of bats? Join us next week, Friday, September 25 for an exclusive, after-hours teen event to celebrate these unsung and often misunderstood heroes of our ecosystem.
We’ll begin with a special screening of The Invisible Mammal, a documentary that follows a team of scientists fighting to save bats from the deadly white-nose syndrome. Then, a scientist from the Urban Wildlife Institute will join for a sunset bat walk at Nature Boardwalk. Participants will have the chance to be in the zoo after it closes to the public and see and hear some of the bats native to our own backyard!
