Playstreets Family Health & Wellness Day

Chicago Collegiate

PlayStreets Chicago is a collaborative initiative that is designed to build healthier, stronger communities. The initiative supports the creation of safe and accessible spaces where residents can be active, connect, learn, and come together. Each activation is shaped by the community and reflects its unique needs and character. Activities may include games, music, movement, dance, food, nutrition demos, health screenings, resource tables, and learning opportunities that support residents’ physical and mental well-being. Through grants from the Chicago Department of Public Health, two community-based organizations serve as lead partners in coordinating PlayStreets activations. Short-term permits allow for temporary street closures, transforming city blocks into safe, welcoming spaces for PlayStreets events. PlayStreets Chicago supports CDPH’s mission to improve health outcomes and close Chicago’s life expectancy gap. The initiative advances the goals of the Healthy Chicago Strategic Plan and reflects the City’s commitment to ensuring every resident has the opportunity to live a healthy, safe, and thriving life. #Playstreets #MCMFSummertime #Mocssafespace #PSSOUTH
