Teen Open Studio: Retro Decor
The Art Institute of Chicago
The graphic design work of Edgardo Giménez might be described as “retro,” but what does that word mean? While Giménez took part in defining the aesthetic of the 60’s, people now create “retro” objects that imitate iconic styles from past decades. Collaborate with your fellow teens to transform obsolete objects like vinyl records and CDs into decorations that will be featured at our annual teen night, Exuberus!
This program is designed for teens ages 13-18. All materials will be provided; no prior experience is needed. If you have any questions, please reach out to teens@artic.edu.
