COOL for College and Careers - Harold Washington College

C.O.O.L. Competent Communicators (for highly engaged, advanced learners). In this program students prepare for the future by mastering key communication skills. In this program students begin to work at an accelerated level learning about how communication skills can be developed and used to gain greater access to current educational, post secondary and occupational opportunities in a wide variety of settings. Students will work to better conceptualize what communication competencies are and practice building requisite skills and perspectives to help develop those competencies. They will practice these competencies and skills while having professional conversations, mock interviews, mock debates and during networking events. All of these activities will be designed to help teens prepare to successfully make the transition to life after high school. This program is ideal for motivated 9 -12th graders.
