Canvas at Humboldt

CANVAS unites the legendary Chicago Park District Boxing Program with undisputed musicians to explore the rhythm of boxing?where music and movement collide.Over the span of six months, fighters from Hamlin, Garfield, and Humboldt Park will shadowbox over acrylic paint on a boxing ring canvas while their punches, footwork, and gym sounds are recorded to create a ""Kinetic Score."" In a final concert series, musicians improvise with these paintings and sounds, turning every punch into a beat.CANVAS is led by Artistic Director Noelia Cruz and co-curated by Production Director Ethan Cowburn.
