Mayor's Youth Commission 2025-2026 Application
Mayor's Youth Commission
The Mayor's Office is excited to announce that the Mayor's Youth Commission application is now open for the 2025-2026 cohort!
The Mayor's Youth Commission (MYC) is a group of up to 40 Chicagoans (who live within the boundaries of the City of Chicago) between the ages of 14 and 19 that serve as a liaison between the Chicago Mayor's Office and Chicago's youth. The Commission meets monthly to foster youth-driven civic engagement and amplify youth vices to impact the City's critical policy conversations. Any youth that is interested must apply by June 22, 2025. Youth: this is a paid opportunity and a great way for you to get their your voice heard!
Here are a few statements from current Youth Commissioners about their experiences in the program:
- "Being part of the MYC has showed me that issues I once thought would always be around can actually be addressed. It’s strengthened my belief that young people can create real change and pushed me to keep pursuing a future where I strive to make social impact."
- "The MYC has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
- I’ve enjoyed serving as the voice for the youth in my city, ensuring our perspectives are heard and valued. I’ve had the chance to directly advocate for the needs of my peers, standing up for their values and concerns every chance I get. This experience has been a catalyst in helping me grow as a leader and changemaker."
We are hosting two additional info-sessions that will give potential commissioners the chance to hear more about the program and ask questions directly to staff and current Youth Commissioners. These info-sessions will be held on:
- Session 2: May 8, 2025
- Session 3: May 16, 2025
*All sessions will be held virtually from 4:30-5:30pm. Youth can sign up for these sessions at: tinyurl.com/MYCInfoSession2025
