
Spring Tree Identification and Guided Walking Tour

Spring is here and the trees are in bloom! Join us for a fun and educational walk with arborist and Director of Forestry at Openlands , Michael Dugan. We'll learn how to identify trees by using tree keys and by observing the springtime emergence of freshly grown buds, leaves, and blossoms.
Michael is proud TreeKeeper #1256, an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist and Municipal Specialist IL9278AM. He is a graduate of the Municipal Forestry Institute and Environmental Leadership Program and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Washington.
This event meets in person at Harold Washington Library Center, 4th floor, Room 4N-10. We will meet in this room for class instruction and then walk towards the South Loop to observe the trees. 15 participants only, online registration required.
