Dock Attendant I

Location: Chicago, IL
Pay: $16.40/hour
Job Type: Seasonal

Love being outdoors and around the water? This might be the job for you! Join the team as a Dock Attendant I and help keep Chicago’s harbors running smoothly all summer long.

What You’ll Do:

• Help boaters when they’re arriving or leaving the docks
• Collect parking or ramp fees when needed
• Check meters and help with paperwork
• Keep the docks and harbor areas clean and safe
• Fuel up boats (don’t worry — we’ll train you!)
• Assist with basic tasks and daily checklists
• Be part of a team that makes sure the harbor stays in great shape

Who We’re Looking For:

• Someone who’s comfortable near water (you must know how to swim)
• Friendly, reliable, and willing to help others
• Able to work outside in all kinds of weather
• Good with basic math and handling money
• Available on weekends and holidays

Harbor Cashier Clerk I

Location: Chicago, IL
Pay Rate: $16.40/hour
Job Type: Seasonal, Non-Exempt
Department: Harbors

Position Summary:
The Chicago Harbors are hiring a Harbor Cashier Clerk I to deliver prompt, courteous, and accurate cashiering services. Under the supervision of the Marina Manager, the Clerk supports daily financial operations and ensures a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a point-of-sale (POS) system to process payments (cash, check, credit card)
• Provide accurate change and issue receipts
• Follow cash handling procedures and maintain proper security of funds
• Greet customers promptly and courteously
• Assist in inventory tracking and monthly reporting
• Open and close register; follow all accounting procedures
• Perform additional administrative or harbor support duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, or evidence of current enrollment
• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable with basic math and making change
• Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Dependable, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment
