Summer Job Opportunity: Tennis Instructor (Day Camp & Tennis 101)

Pay: Starting at $16.40/hour
Who Should Apply: Youth & young adults (18–24) who enjoy sports, working with kids, and being outdoors!
What You’ll Do:
Help introduce tennis to youth across Chicago parks! Whether it's during summer camps or after-school-style programs, you'll teach basic tennis skills through fun games and teamwork.
Available Roles:
- Day Camp Instructor (June 23–Aug 1): Teach tennis one day per week at the same park during summer camp hours (9AM–4PM).
- Tennis 101 Instructor (May 12–Oct 24): Lead 6-session classes for beginners using fun drills and character-building activities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Teach youth ages 4–18 basic tennis skills
- Follow lesson plans using USTA’s Net Generation curriculum
- Set up and clean up equipment
- Create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment
- Work with camp counselors and a supportive coaching team
- Attend paid training before programs begin
You’d Be Great For This If You:
- Enjoy working with kids and being active
- Have some tennis experience (playing or coaching)
- Are reliable, a good communicator, and a team player
- Want to build skills in leadership, teaching, and youth development
- Are able to travel to different Chicago parks
Requirements:
- Pass a background check and complete free online training
- Be punctual and enthusiastic
- Comfortable standing/moving on a tennis court for long periods
Bonus: If a class gets canceled due to weather, you still get paid!
