Pearls of Ubuntu’s Business Development Program

This 4-week program, meeting on Saturday’s only, is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs to develop, launch, and grow their own businesses. Participants receive a small stipend to bring their business ideas to life, learning about branding, marketing, and financial management. They test their products/services in a pop-up shop experience, gaining real-world selling experience. The program culminates in a business competition where students pitch their ideas for a chance to win $1,000 in funding.

What They Learn:

• Business plan development and financial literacy

• Branding, marketing, and sales strategies

• Customer service and negotiation skills

• E-commerce and in-person sales techniques

• Public speaking and investor pitching.

Program Outcome:

• Launch of a small business with real customers

• Hands-on selling experience at a pop-up shop

• A chance to win additional funding to grow their business
