The Youth Standing On Prevention (Y-STOP) Leadership Academy empowers youth through a 12-week program focused on developing skills and confidence for community leadership. Participants engage in workshops and activities that foster personal growth, conflict resolution, social responsibility, and advocacy.

Y-STOP encourages youth to build a positive self-image, embrace cultural pride, and cultivate a strong sense of dignity and self-worth. It equips them with vital tools to face challenges and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Program Components

Leadership Development – Build essential leadership qualities, including decision-making, teamwork, and effective communication.

Conflict Resolution & Non-Violence Strategies – Learn The 8 Steps of Non-Violence, de-escalation techniques, and conflict resolution skills to promote peace in the community.

Substance Abuse Prevention – Understand the risks of alcohol and drug use while developing strategies for prevention and peer education.

Violence Prevention & Anti-Bullying – Gain tools to recognize, prevent, and address violence and bullying in schools and neighborhoods.

Sexual Health & Responsibility – Engage in age-appropriate discussions on healthy relationships, consent, and reproductive health.

Social Justice & Advocacy – Explore topics like equity, systemic change, and youth activism, learning how to use your voice to make a difference.
