Be Your Own Boss

Learn how to create and pitch your own business idea all while getting paid as a Be Your Own Boss Intern! Over four weeks, you’ll get a crash course in entrepreneurship and work with awesome teens from across the city to build a business of your own.

We will be running two cohorts of the Be Your Own Boss internship in Spring 2025. Program dates are as follows:

• The May Cohort will meet from Tuesday, May 6 - Thursday, May 29, 2025. Programming will take place after school from 5:00-7:15 PM CT on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.

Sessions will include a mix of all-intern and team sessions. Accepted applicants will be paid up to $250 for their participation in the internship and have the opportunity to win an extra $250 at the end-of-program pitch competition.

NB: You can only participate in one cohort. If you have previously participated in Be Your Own Boss, you are ineligible to apply again.

IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT: These cohorts are only open to high school students living in Chicago and attending a Public or Charter School. These cohorts are for our Chicago Students.
