Meet the Maker-in-Residence, Christina

Chicago Public Library

As a lifelong seamstress and a newly minted computer engineer, Christina, the HWLC Maker-in-Residence, is obsessed about teaching others how to combine these disciplines. Visit Christina on Floor 3 of HWLC for hands-on opportunities to interact with coding, electronics, and crafting. Learn how she creates eye-catching, moving, wearable tech pieces, paired with explanations or circuit “skeletons” that invite learners to investigate how the piece was made.Christina is a senior software engineer at her day job, where she also teaches classes on laser cutting, vinyl cutting, and sewing. She is 4-time award winner on instructables.com for her free instructional content, and her tutorials have been featured in ‘Make: Magazine’. Find Christina’s free tutorials and resources on her website, She Builds Robots. The Maker-in-Residence is generously funded by the Chicago Public Library Foundation.Photos provided by Christina
