Art Institute Museum Education Summer Internship- Summer 2016
The Art Institute of Chicago | Department of Museum Education
Internship opportunities for high school teens are available during the school year and summer through partnerships with After School Matters and Marwen.
After School Matters Interns work at the Art Institute of Chicago in Museum Education to facilitate public programs for families, youth, and teens. Interns work closely with museum staff to support art-making activities, studio programs, gallery tours, youth events, and family festivals. Interns also have the opportunity to design and lead their own innovative public programs, job-shadow with staff from around the museum, get access to the behind-the-scenes of the museum, and learn about the museum’s collection.
The Museum Education Internship is a great opportunity for creative teens who are interested in studio arts, museums, education, leadership, and/or working with the public.
ASM Internships take place during the summer. If you are a Chicago Public School high school student who is at least 16 years old, you can apply for a summer Museum Education internship through After School Matters. Summer applications are usually available around April and interviews take place in May.
