Join CPL at Center Stage onsite at Printers Row Lit Fest for a conversation with Kevin Pang, about his debut, A Very Chinese Cookbook which was recently named one of the best cookbooks of 2023 by The New York Times.Kevin Pang is a creative director, food writer, maker of fun videos, author of the No. 1 Bestseller A Very Chinese Cookbook, and a contributor to The New York Times and Esquire. Kevin is the co-director of the critically acclaimed documentary For Grace, which premiered at SXSW Film Festival 2015 and was acquired by Netflix. He launched The Onion's food vertical, where he created ad campaigns and led brand activations for Cholula, Showtime, Kettle Brand Chips, G.E. Appliances, Tequila Cazadores, and Hormel. A Very Chinese Cookbook: 100 Recipes From China & Not China (but Still Really Chinese) was written by Kevin and his father Jeffrey, the men behind the phenomenally popular Hunger Pangs YouTube series from AmericaÕs Test Kitchen. This wide-ranging and affectionately irreverent look at Chinese cooking spotlights more than 100 recipes from weeknight dinners like Clay Pot Chicken Rice and Twice-Cooked Pork to comfort classics like Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup and celebratory fare such as Cantonese Crispy Pork Belly and Ginger-Scallion Lobster.
