Water Works at the Y - Paid | Irving Park, McCormick, & South Side YMCAs
YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago
Water Works is a brand-new YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago career exploration program designed to unlock a whole new world of careers in and around water — which makes up nearly three-quarters (71%) of the world’s surface! From lifeguard to oceanographer, participants will obtain first-hand discovery of a variety of water-related careers. This program will provide varied levels of swim instruction, certification, and career development programming focused on water-related careers at no cost. In addition to all of your costs for certifications and equipment being included, you will also earn a paid stipend of $16.20/hour!
12-week sessions will be held at the
- Irving Park YMCA (Old Irving Park),
- McCormick YMCA (Humboldt Park),
- and South Side YMCA (Woodlawn).
Each session runs Monday through Thursday weekly, with field trips every other Saturday. The sessions take place as follows:
- Irving Park Y, from 12 to 3 p.m.
- McCormick Y, from 4 to 7 p.m.
- South Side Y, from 5 to 8 p.m.
