Both men led organizations that were totally dedicated to its members who unquestionably followed their orders. David Barksdale, leader of the Gangster Disciples, and Mayor Richard J. Daley never met, yet were powerful forces who shaped the future of Chicago.Join Professor Lance Williams, nationally recognized expert on gangs, in a conversation with Richard S. Norman, President of Edgewater Village Chicago. They will discuss Dr. Williamsâ book, King David and Boss Daley, and its impact on our community and the entire city. There will be a Q&A period followed by a book signing. Registration is recommended but not required.
