Be a part of "Healing 1919", a month-long program from July 8 - July 31st for teens ages 14 -17. Participants will explore the history of the Chicago Race Riot of 1919 (also known as the Red Summer) while learning racial healing techniques and design thinking methods to create a future of collective healing and justice. Final projects will be presented at the culminating event for families and community members on July 31st at 6pm.
Gain college experience with 20 other youth focused on making the world a better place. Lunch will be provided daily on campus with field trips and guest speakers each week. Participants will receive a $500 stipend for completion of program.
Healing 1919 is a program created by Organic Oneness, Illinois Tech, Chicago Center for Youth Violence Prevention, RE*KIN~NECTING, and Engage Civil Inc.
