In the summer, the Chicago Park District offers four positions for ages 16 and up: Lifeguard, Recreation Leader (for day camp), Special Recreation Leader (for day camps for kids and adults with intellectual disabilities), and Junior Laborer (landscape maintenance). Additional positions are available for ages 18 .

Special Recreation Leaders

2023 Pay Rate: $15.70/hour*. Ages 16
Work with kids & adults • Weekends & evenings free

Special Recreation Leaders lead activities and games for
kids and adults with intellectual disabilities at camp. The
perfect job for those who want to make a difference and
lifelong friendships.

Positions run roughly 6 weeks, from mid-June to early August.
