Meet Ray Long: The House That Madigan Built

The Society of Midland Authors and Chicago Public Library present Chicago Tribune investigative reporter Ray Long to discuss his new book The House That Madigan Built. Veteran reporter Long draws on four decades of observing state government to provide the definitive political analysis of Michael Madigan in his new book, The House That Madigan Built. Long will discuss the the book, which includes accounts of the battles that defined the Madigan era and the machinery that kept the Speaker in power. Ray Long is a Chicago Tribune investigative reporter and a two-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. He has covered Michael Madigan and Illinois politics for more than forty years as a journalist writing for the Chicago Tribune, Associated Press, Chicago Sun-Times, Peoria Journal Star and The Telegraph of Alton.How to Attend - In Person:Doors to the Auditorium open at 5:30 p.m., and seating is first come, first served (350 capacity). Books are available for purchase, and the author will autograph books at the conclusion of the program.This is an in-person event.
