Kode With Klossy Summer 2022
City of Chicago Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS)
Applications for Kode With Klossy’s virtual & in-person coding camps are officially open!
If you’re curious about how you can be part of the future world of tech, join us this summer for our FREE (yup, still free) 2-week coding programs.
Kode With Klossy’s programs provides the opportunity for girls, gender nonconforming & trans individuals across the country, ages 13-18, to attend free two-week bootcamps that introduce them to key computer science concepts and skills. Scholars collaborate with each other and with inspiring instructors to explore the limitless potential of code and computer science. Camps will be held in two-week windows between June 6 - August 19, and will be held both virtually and in-person.
Scholars will learn one of three curricula...
- Website Development
What does it take to build a website? This curriculum is focused on building web-based software using 3 programming languages: Javascript, HTML and CSS. They also learned the importance of responsive design, accessibility and how to improve the UX (user experience) of a website. Scholars in this camp will apply these skills to create a fully-functioning website.
- Mobile Application Development - Swift
Everyone has a favorite app. Using the Apple programming language Swift, scholars will learn how to architect and build out mobile applications. They will leverage X-Code to create fully-functioning iOS capable mobile apps.
- Data Science - SQL and Python
Data is all around us. In this curriculum, scholars learn how to transform data into easily digestible visual elements using SQL, Python and data visualization tools. By the end of their session, scholars will build a visualization of a problem they are passionate about using data.
- And much, much more!
