Description:

100 Level - No experience necessary

Every kid plays chase at some point- it is such a simple game. One player tries to catch someone who is trying to stay uncaught.  But is it so simple?  How do you tell a computer how to chase someone?  Computers are pretty dumb - they dont even know how to do it (until we tell them).

chasing

This challenge is designed to introduce key ideas in games and in how to use Scratch.  The steps are:

  1. Create one player who you can move around by pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard
  2. Create a second player controlled by the computer to chase the first one - give it instructions on how to chase
  3. When the first player gets caught, announce the end of the game

If you know Scratch already you can add some extras to your chase game.

Do you know what this means? Then build your game and finish the Challenge!

If you are new to Scratch, check out the Intro to Scratch video that will show you how to get started. If you know Scratch already you should go straight to the Chasing Game Challenge video.
