Learn how to make a game for change through three challenges: Think of a topic, learn game-making, and then make your own game for change. One fabulous game will be selected to be showcased at the Games for Change Arcade at the end of summer festival in Chicago – it could be yours! Earn a badge for each challenge and contend for top showcase honors!

Description:

100 Level - No experience necessary

Using Gamestar Mechanic (or another platform of your choice) make your very own game for change! The games will be judged by SOL mentors on the basis of quality, unique perspective and potential for positive impact. The top games will then be showcased in the Games for Change Arcade at the end of the summer Summer of Learning Fair. The top honor will also earn you a Game Master Showcase badge.


Challenge Instructions:

  1. Brainstorm a game for change topic (use the topic from your earlier brainstorm or select a new one) 
  2. In a short written response, describe how the game will achieve the desired impact (What makes it a game for change? How might you measure its impact? What is the target audience?)
  3. Create the game using Gamestar Mechanic (or another platform of your choice)
  4. Upload a link to your completed game for change
