Mobile apps! Fun games, information gadgets, and simulations for your cell phone or tablet. In this challenge, you will find out more about the field of interaction design and learn some of the principles of designing an app for an end user. You will learn how to use App Inventor, a free tool from MIT to help you quickly and easily create cool new apps of your own design!

The final challenge will require you to identify a mobile app need and design and build an app to fill that need. Be creative!

100 Level - No experience necessary

Go to  and follow . (You will need to use a gmail account or school domain that is connected to google.)

Make sure the computer you’re working on is setup to use MIT App Inventor . If it is not, follow the the setup instructions (purple "Setup" tab) on the App Inventor website.

Then make sure you have a gmail account, or a school email account that is run through google.

Make your first app by completing the Hello Purr tutorial. Try to change something about the app before submitting your final product (e.g. change the sound or the image).

To complete this activity: Make a new blog post in iRemix with one or two screenshots of your app and describe what you changed to make your app different from the original tutorial.
