Gunsaulus Scholastic Academy is dedicated to nurturing and developing a community of passionate, loving, and respectful life-long learners and leaders who empower themselves as global citizens. Thank you for visiting our home page! Our school, Gunsaulus Scholastic Academy, is located in the heart of the Brighton Park neighborhood. As a Scholastic Academy, we are a magnet school that offers an enriching experience for students in grade PK-8th. We thrive on creating a community school that meets our student and family needs both academically and socio-emotionally. Academically, we offer a curricular program that targets students’ individual needs and pushes critical thinking. We target instruction based on NWEA and Fountas and Pinnell Assessments aligned to the Common Core State Standards. From these assessments and teacher input, students receive differentiated instruction. We also offer High School Algebra to 8th graders who are prepared for success in the program. In addition to our rigorous academic offerings, we ensure our students have access to a wide variety of enrichment and extra-curricular activities. Our enrichments courses include Art, Library, Reading, Music, Physical Education, Dance, and Computer Technology. Our athletics’ program includes sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, and running. Lastly, our before- and after-school programming supports students to explore their passions such as ceramics, band, chorus, student council, and anime.
