For over 25 years, Under the Rainbow (UTR) has been dedicated to providing evidence-based mental health services for families in North and South Lawndale. Under the Rainbow specializes in the assessment and treatment of youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, or complex trauma, but also provides treatment for a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, ADHD, psychotic disorders, grief/loss, school related problems, and family conflict.UTR provides assessment and treatment to children between the ages of 3 and 18, and their families. Services are provided by Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Psychiatrists, Psychology Doctoral Externs, and Master’s Interns, and are offered in both English and Spanish. UTR offers a range of services to children and their families, including: mental health assessments, individual therapy, play therapy, family therapy, group therapy, parenting classes, psychiatric evaluation, psychotropic medication management and consultation, case management, ongoing child advocacy, liaison with private and public child welfare agencies, and crisis intervention. UTR emphasizes a trauma-informed, team-oriented approach to diagnosis and treatment. Clinicians utilize a variety of Evidenced Based Treatments, which are rooted in a rich understanding of children and adolescents in the context of their families, communities, and cultural identities.
