Our organization comprises women who did not let their circumstances overcome them but, in fact, overcome their circumstances. Each of us has come from different walks of life, and we want to share our life experiences, trials, tribulations, and how we overcome life struggles to empower, motivate and inspire our youth. We strongly believe that because a child is born into poverty, they don’t have to be a product of their environment. FFM’s mission is to provide a mentoring experience that serves as a safe space to help increase the mentees' levels of self-confidence, emotional health, and personal development. It serves preteen girls, adolescents, and young adult women who reside in underrepresented communities needing one-on-one mentoring and group activities to help build or rebuild their self-confidence and esteem. Its vision is community-based mentorship for young women of color that creates a culture of excellence, of belonging, and of giving back. As a result, we offer programming that supports young girls and women in building life and social skills, etiquette in its various forms, confidence, psychological awareness and safety, violence prevention and intervention, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce development.
