Founded in 1975, FACETS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the exhibition, distribution & education of foreign, independent & classic films. FACETS provides a platforms for thought-provoking important conversations, and community-driven education. A landmark destination for generations of cinephiles, FACETS inspires audiences to actively engage with film, not simply as entertainment, but as a tool to bridge cultural divides, promote digital literacy skills, and expand perspectives through empathy-driven storytelling. FACETS offers programs for adults, children, youth, families and students through Facets Cinema, Facets Café (Rentals), Facets distribution label, Facets Kids/Facets Edge streaming service, the Chicago International Children's Film Festival (an Academy-qualifying film festival featuring over 200 films from 40 countries), groups screenings, film workshops, panel discussions, and special events.
