Allies for Community Business (A4CB), formerly known as Accion Chicago, provides the capital, coaching and connections entrepreneurs need to grow great businesses that create jobs and wealth in their communities. As a nonprofit located on Chicago’s West Side, A4CB prioritizes Black, Hispanic/Latinx, women, and low-income entrepreneurs throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond, creating opportunity in areas that need it most. They offer loans between $500 and $100,000 to early, emerging, and established businesses at fair prices. A4CB is different from other lenders: they do not use credit scores and do not judge the value of personal assets. Instead, they evaluate how you have managed debts over the past two years and how much cash you have available to make loan payments. A4CB also provides free coaching services and frequently manages grant programs to further support business owners in the Illinois and Indiana community.
