Adler Civic Hack Day

Civic Hack Day at the Adler Planetarium is unique because it focuses on youth engagement by bringing together young people and adults to work together in creating solutions to issues effecting the lives of Chicagoans. Young people participating in the Youth Civic Innovations and Hacking Initiative, a partnership between the Adler Planetarium, Mikva Challenge, and Free Spirit Media will pitch issues to hackers using websites they’ve researched, designed, and built. Additional young people ages 12 to 20 are invited to participate in a series of free workshops designed to demonstrate hacking as a form of quick and creative problem-solving. These workshops, hosted by Adler’s Youth Leadership Council, will happen on Saturday May 31st.
