Chicago Public Library presents STEAM-Powered Saturday
Saturday, May 30, 2015 (11:00AM – 3:00PM)
Harold Washington Library Center

Children ages 3-11 and their families are invited to join us for a celebration of the power of STEAM - Science Technology Engineering Art and Math! Take part in a wide range of activities that will help you learn more about STEAM in the world around us.

Activities will include an egg drop challenge, hands-on robotics, a giant math game, mini air cannons, and balloon rockets!

Other scheduled events include:

Thomas Hughes Children's Library (2nd Floor)

  • STEAM-powered story times at 11:15 AM, 12:15 AM, 1:15 PM and 2:15 PM

Winter Garden (9th Floor)

  • Special musical performances by ScribbleMonster at 11:30 AM and 1:45 PM

South Hall (9th Floor)

  • Sky Dome Planetarium- join us for presentations inside a giant, inflatable planetarium to learn about the stars and the skies above us.
    • Presentations will be at 11:15 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:30 PM and 2:15 PM
    • Tickets for the Sky Dome Planetarium will be required for attendance. A limited number will be be available on a first come, first served basis in the 9th Floor Winter Garden.
    • Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an adult to view the Sky Dome Planetarium presentations.
