Youth, Professional Designers, Engineers and Artists from diverse communities across Chicago craft cardboard creations and energize those sculptures at the Cardboard Challenge and Cardboard Switching Workshops.

Builders, young and old, follow their own ideas and receive adult assistance to build anything from a cardboard lion, rocket ship or guitar (or anything else) and use a Makey Makey board, simple conductive materials and short computer code to bring those sculptures to life!

More information on The Global Cardboard Challenge in Chicago, to be held at The Civic Lab (114 Aberdeen) from 1-4pm on Saturday, October 11, can be found at http://www.codecreate.us/chicago-cardboard-challenge.html.

CodeCreate will also present several low-cost workshops after the freely provided Cardboard Challenge empowering youth to explore more ideas in depth though out the fall.

The Challenge was inspired by Caine's Arcade
